The City of Olympia commissioned this video and these images to document the visual expression that appeared in Downtown Olympia in the spring and summer of 2020. Still photographs capture highlights of the imagery and messages that appeared with the Black Lives Matter movement and artwork that sought to soften the boarding of storefronts in response to Pandemic-related business closures. The video features images inspired by the Black Lives Matter movement and is accompanied by the spoken word of Anthony Markland voiced by Laila Markland.
